How to catch a lot of fish

One of Dennis’s favorite things to do as a dad is to take Adi fishing. I think there is something nostalgic and almost like a right of passage into childhood to take your son or daughter fishing.

I remember as a kid, fishing with my dad. Basically, it involved begging him to touch the slimy worms or “bait fish” if we were fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. He would bait my hook, I would cast out. Inevitably, a fish would catch a free snack from my hook.

Repeat.

I think my dad spent more time baiting my hook than he did actually fishing. He was and still is, a good dad. I am confident, that even today, he would gladly bait my hook for me.

This afternoon, Dennis took our soon-to-be five year-old fishing.

As they were standing on the shore Adi told her daddy that she knows how to catch a lot of fish:

"First you go out in your boat like the disciples.

Then, God says to cast your nets on the other side and you catch so much fish your boat starts to sink!

So, make sure you're wearing a life jacket.

Also, we need a boat."
