On a cool, crisp California day - a day filled with sunshine, wild geese and lavender blooms - we gathered three adorable little ladies for a session loosely styled around “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.

A year prior, I had this idea swirling in my head as we were headed to New York City for a few days. I brought everything we needed: dress, dainty heeled shoes, gloves, sunglasses, necklace and tiara. We even brought along a sweet, newly-minted, 10 year-old who just so happened to be celebrating her birthday in the City.

Where could a Breakfast at Tiffany’s themed session be more perfect than right in the heart of NYC?!? Except, it wasn’t meant to be. The morning we had set aside for the session, we woke up…and it was raining. Really raining. It was soggy, wet…and so incredibly grey. Of course, that sort of day can lend an interesting twist to any session - it just wasn't in line with what we were hoping to create.

In the end, we set the session aside. Sometimes you have to do that with a creative vision. You just have to hold onto it until the exact right time. So, we waited. And, we waited a bit more. We waited many months, actually. We waited until there was a day that we not only had glorious sunshine (thank you, California!)…but, we now also had THREE beautiful little ladies ready for a perfect tea party - complete with strings of pearls and flaky croissants.

My dear cousin, Kim, who is an incredibly talented Senior photographer in Eldorado Hills, CA and I worked together on fulfilling the vision for this session. We each had our own creative take and shot our own images. We started with the group of three girls and then split off to capture individuals of each of our sweet little ladies.

Today, as I was finishing up this adorable and charming gallery, I noticed that there were small dew drops that looked like little gems along the railing and chairs. Perhaps we didn’t actually have our flaky croissants for breakfast *at* Tiffany’s, but nature’s added sparkle was better than any jewelry store could ever offer.
